The Extended Frame: A Collection of Urban Stories explores how humanity occupies space. Inspired by the great street photographers, I spent four decades walking city streets trying to master my point of view. With thousands of single frame photographs in my archive, I began to play with these photographs like a puzzle to create new visual narratives. Informed by my childhood years consuming an abundance of film and tv, I found something provocative in the directive process of creating a multi-frame format that echos the fragmented yet hyper-stimulating nature of urban life. Through this work I am examining the tension between public and private, unity and isolation, the collective and the individual. Both distinct and interconnected, these compositions challenge our perception of reality and reveal unexpected connections.
